Little River County Housing Authority Quarterly Board Meeting
Thursday, September 9, 2021 @ 2:00 pm

The Quarterly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Little River County Housing Authority was held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 @ 2:00 pm via Zoom meeting platform.

Members present: Vice-Chair Barbara Brown, Commissioner Amanda Johnson, Commissioner Rea Allen and Secretary Denise Riley.

Members absent: (2) Commissioner Britney Pulliam & Commissioner Anthony Nelson

ITEM I) Meeting was called to order by Vice-Chair Barbara Brown.

ITEM II) Roll call by Secretary Denise Riley

ITEM III) Election of Officers: Election results are as follows: Chairperson: Commissioner Barbara Brown; Vice-Chairperson: Commissioner Anthony Nelson. New officers' positions will go into effect on October 1, 2021 thru September 30, 2022.

ITEM IV) Extension of Board Term for Commissioner Amanda Johnson: Commissioner Johnson's term ends on 12/01/2021. Commissioner Johnson agreed to extend her term for another 5 years thru 12/01/2026.

ITEM V) Approval of Meeting Agenda: Meeting agenda was mailed to all Board members for review prior to the meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner Amanda Johnson to approve the meeting agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Rea Allen. All were in favor. Motion carried.

ITEM VI) Reading and approval of Previous Minutes: Minutes of the previous meeting were mailed to all Board members for review prior to the meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner Amanda Johnson to accept the previous minutes. Seconded by Commissioner Rea Allen. All were in favor. Motion carried.

ITEM VII) Approval to remove Joel Adams from all bank accounts and replace with Commissioner Rea Allen: Denise Riley informed the Board that Mr. Joel Adams would have to be replaced on all bank accounts. A motion was made by Commissioner Amanda Johnson to add Commissioner Rea Allen to all bank accounts. Seconded by Commissioner Barbara Brown. All were in favor. Motion carried. Denise Riley will start the process with Regions Bank, Arvest Bank, Horatio State Bank and Farmer's Bank & Trust banks to get Commissioner Rea Allen added.

Financial Reports: Financial reports were mailed to all Board member for review prior to the meeting.

Management Reports: Secretary Denise Riley gave a report on Public Housing vacancies, delinquent rents, HCV voucher utilization and vouchers issued.

ITEM VII) New Business:

  • Covid Update: Denise Riley reported that a decision was made to close the offices to the public in Foreman and Ashdown on August 30th because of the rise in Covid cases in Little River County. Offices will be closed to the public until further notice.

Having no more business, Commissioner Amanda Johnson made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Rea Allen. All were in favor. Meeting was adjourned.
